Alotta Dane was bred by Roy’s wife Wendy after she purchased his dam True Dane (Danetime) at the 2020 Mungrup Stud Dispersal Sale. He’s the penultimate foal from the mare whose older full-brother Roman Time had won a G2 Karrakatta Plate (1200m) for Fred Kersley in 2007.
A Lot finished last season with a flourish for Westbury Park. His promising stayer Dirty Habits destroyed a Pinjarra maiden field on July 22 and there are ambitious carnival plans in place when he returns from a spell later this year.
Jazalot and Marcos also signed off with impressive victories at Belmont last Wednesday. Jazalot sent his earnings through $100,000 for owner-breeder Jan Williamson and Marcos won the final 2yo race of the season for co-breeder Peter Skinner and clients of trainer Luke Fernie.
Marcos (2g A Lot – Two Shoes by Jet Spur) won the Morley Growers Market Maiden (1200m) first-up since finishing right behind the placegetters in the LR Supremacy Stakes (1000m) and LR Perth Stakes (1100m) at Ascot in March-April.
“I couldn’t have asked for a better run but he’s a tricky ride,” Clint Johnston-Porter said. “He’s still raw and I felt like a passenger until I changed the whip to the left hand and he found a heap.”
Marcos is from Brisbane 2yo winner Two Shoes and second-dam Locquacious (Royal Academy) is a half-sister to Zero Engagement (Woodman) who won a LR Ascot Gold Cup and LR Northam Cup for Toby Roney.
A Lot (Tapit) stands for a $7,700 fee at Westbury Park alongside newcomer Straight Charge ($6,600) and My Admiration ($4,400). For bookings or further information contact: Claire Williamson (0417 914 605) or Phil Ibbotson (0429 341 211).
Straight Charge (Written By) paraded at the Bunbury races on Thursday, his third race-day appearance in a week, and Westbury Park owner Phil Ibbotson reports he took them all in his stride as well as impressing breeders at the stud’s open day last weekend.
