Sir Dreamalot is the second smart city-level winner Josh Krispyn has trained by A Lot (USA) and he’s hoping for better luck this time around.
Askalot was the first from A Lot’s initial crop and he won twice at Ascot on a path to last year’s G2 WA Derby (2400m). Unfortunately, classic plans were shelved following a worrying 14-length loss in the LR Roberts Stakes (2000m) and he hasn’t been seen in the 12 months since then.
Many of the same connections are also in the Sir Dreamalot syndicate managed by Troy Blechynden and lightning struck twice when he blitzed a Bunbury 2yo sprint field by four lengths on Saturday (Photo / Western Racepix). With a wing on every hoof propelling the youngster to a four-length victory, he was a shoo-in for TBWA Winner of the Week.
He clocked 58.10s which isn’t far outside the all-age track-record of 57.73s set by Sky Duke in November. And the form should stack up as runner-up Blue Rocket (Blue Point) was our TBWA Winner of the Week a fortnight ago.
A Lot (Tapit) now stands at Westbury Park following earlier books at in the Great Southern at Mungrup Stud and Willaview Park. Sir Dreamalot is the first foal from unraced mare Dreaming A Dream (Oratorio) and she delivered another A Lot colt at Willaview Park in October.
Dreaming A Dream is closely related to Waratah’s Secret (Oratorio) who won two editions of the G3 Prince of Wales Stakes (1100m) at Ascot and earned over $770,000 for clients of trainer David Harrison.
